My Flower Collage
It’s good to be back! I think a lot of people have already finished theirs and written a post. I guess I finished a bit too late…
Anyway, the flower collage was similar to the ice cream one. It was still a collage, but instead of overlaping the pictures, we got 200 x 200 pictures and put them together without overlapping. We used GIMP again by the way.
1. First, open GIMP and make a 1200 x 2000 file. Leave this window open.
2. Next, collect 60 pictures of flowers or whatever you’re doing. This may take a while because you have to find pictures that are about 200 x 200. It would be nice if you could find a 200 x 200 picture exactly.
3. Then, open one picture and click the first tool on the toolbar. If you hover your mouse over it, it will say, “Select rectangular regions.”
4. Cut the picture with the tool so it can be 200 by 200 exactly. If it is already a perfect square, you still have to do the same thing.
5. Copy the picture and paste it to the new file. You might want to make a transperant layer for each picture, just in case you made a mistake.
6. When pasting it, be sure it fits exactly. This is why the pictures have to be 200 by 200- so it will fit the file.
7. Keep repeating steps 3-6 until all pictures are in one file. Don’t forget to save every now and then.
If you want a sample on how it turns out, look at my collage bellow. It isn’t perfect but you’ll get the picture. (Literally!)
